drone rth

wat a few minutes after takeoff to hear home point set

don't fly away without hearing this

shortcut = hold H button (next to CNS)

or

https://www.heliguy.com/blogs/knowledge-base/how-to-use-smart-rth-on-th…

default setting - low battery will go into RTH home - don't think that this setting adjusts according to the distance of the drone so I think either 2 miles away or 20m away it will go into RTH

think can change low battey setting to hover or land not RTH - but be careful if eg hiking cos don't want it to land or hover eg in a ravine

if battery is exhausted while flying will drop like a stone, so will go into forced landing mode? ie won't rth if too far eg cos rth has been cancelled??

During the auto landing you can use the pitch stick and roll stick to move the aircraft horizontally.

RTH point does not update automatically so suppose you are cycling and drone is tracking you - if goes into RTH mode eg due to loss of signal or lowe battery, RTH point drone will return to could be 2 miles etc away!!

need to update home point manually = settings / safety / update home point - awkward if you are cycling etc

f shooting in a problematic upward environment (screen, glass roof, canopy of twigs), be sure to set your loss of signal event to hover or land not RTH. This was suggested here and is good advice.

safety / advanced rth

can define auto rth altitude

optimal / preset - I think optimal = drone will not don the ascend thing unless in low light??

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/c0rTwYXj3fk dji rth is very accurate eg within 20cm ?

does obstacle avoidance work in RTH mode? If yes why would it crash during RTH? 1 The Drone Creative · @TheDroneCreative 26 minutes ago Hey! Yeah, it does, and most of the time it will avoid the obstacles. However, if it doesn't detect the obstacle, such as a power line or tree branch, it could still crash when returning home.

also re building it should not crash into the body of a building but maybe if there was something like wire sticking out from the building -

so RTH is really a back up option eg if signal lost, but usually if manual control is an option this is better

also with waypoints return to start it can take some crazy route eg involving climbing rather than the natural / obvious route
